2019, wowie what a year. 2019 has been one of the most difficult years of my life, but all around the most rewarding. I saw success with school, my career, and I grew as an actor. Its been a nonstop source of frustration that I don't express myself as much as I would desire here on Newgrounds or anywhere in general, but I figure it's best to reflect on the better parts!

Despite what I said, I did put out a few audio snippets this year. There were other radio productions I created, but the best one was this one here:

I entered the voice acting contest here on NG, the 12th annual this time around. I entered with The Ballad of Sir Nermal, you can listen to it here:

It was good enough to win me second place in the tournament, and I was very pleased with my performance. It's crazy to think that I entered the contest with my very first audio submission 7 years ago, and comparing them is night and day, I've learned a lot!

I voiced in a couple animations this year too, the most recent being from the fantastic @Twisted4000 , a smash bros cartoon:

If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend, the script was charming, and the pacing was excellently done.

It's been an amazing experience to be a part of this series, I'm super excited to see more from everyone involved!

As for art, shit dog, that's been lacking. Maybe next year? :P

I talked about it last year briefly, but I am the most proud of myself to say that I joined the Navy earlier this year. I studied my ass off, and interviewed with a four star admiral in Washington DC at Naval Reactors. I was scared out of my mind going through the gauntlet, but I made it into the Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidacy program. Fuck yeah. From here on out, it's working out at the gym and doing well at school. It's been the most surreal thing. I've been talking about this stuff for the better part of this decade, and I can finally say "Yeah, I fucking did it." Truly cathartic.

Speaking of school, had a good year at that too! Took a shit tone of physics classes, got straight A's this entire year! Hard as fuck though. I traveled to Cambodia over the summer and taught Cambodian students physics, let alone I've been teaching american students all year in intro level courses. Not going to be teaching anything next year sadly, I was a dingus and didn't get my application in in time, so whoops!

So I'm glad for my 2019. I got a lot of stuff done, and I was the best Sam I could be. Still, there's room for improvement. I'm continuing my work at the radio station at school, and I'm going to do my damnedest to show more of my creative side here on Newgrounds. This place has been good to me all these years, I don't want it to change anytime soon :)
